Stained Concrete Color and Finish Guide

Compare color in the space where you will see it every day. Review sealed samples, natural variation and sheen before committing to the whole surface.

Color is only one part of a stained-concrete finish. Texture, sheen, the slab beneath it, and the light where you use it all influence the result.

Build a small comparison board

Select a few candidate colors and review sealed samples rather than many screen images. Note the product, preparation, and sealer used for each. A photograph is useful inspiration but cannot promise a matching slab.

Keep repairs visible in the discussion

Different pours, patches, and previous adhesive can affect the final appearance. Ask the provider to show how those areas respond in testing. If uniformity matters more than natural variation, compare a suitable opaque or overlay system.

Approve the complete sample

Record the color, texture, and sealer together. Ask how repairs will be handled if the slab changes later. The stain-system comparison helps connect appearance to preparation and upkeep.
